Storage water heaters provide excess capacity to satisfy peak demand without peak energy requirements. The P-K CONTROL-FLO® storage water heater offers instant response to hot water demand, elimination of peak energy loads, availability of all stored hot water, high capacity and simple installation.

Compared with conventional storage water heaters, the P-K CONTROL-FLO® water heater engineered packages offer 25-30% less storage capacity to handle the same peaks. This decreases the size of the unit needed to carry a given load.

Our proprietary ANTICIPATOR® control system activates the control valve to admit the heating medium before any temperature change is sensed in the storage tank, providing a closer control of water temperature. This design supplies peak hot water demands without peak energy requirements.

The Series 500 Control-Flo® Water Heaters are a family of packaged storage water heaters with the capacity to carry through the peak demand. Circulation Speeds Heat Transfer

Better circulation

Copper tubes in the heat-exchanger bundle are shrouded in a cylindrical shell. Water circulates through the shell in a baffled path across the tubes, causing a turbulent action that produces high heat transfer efficiency and minimizes tube fouling. Controlled high heat-transfer rates assure that the exchanger will deliver its rated capacity. More important in stream service, this design prevents shock loads that are found in a water heater using an unshrouded bundle surrounded by cold water.

Engineered Design Helps Reduce Operating Costs

Ergonomic design

Complete engineering of the heat exchanger and storage system provides maximum control in every unit. Its design keeps the entire storage section filled with hot water, except as stored water is drawn off beyond recovery capability. The heating process is not delayed, as it is in conventional storage units. Instead, forced circulation assures that the temperature of stored water is being senses continually. Whenever necessary, steam is proportionally admitted to the heat exchanger to bring stored water up to temperature. The Anticipator® then responds immediately to both hot-water delivery rate and incoming cold-water temperature. It activates the control valve to admit steam before any temperature change is sensed in the storage tank, providing closer control of water temperature.
